‘We create our lives from the choices we make. Each choice either frees us or binds us. And because the idea of freedom is personal to every human, knowing which choices lead towards it, is something we need to explore through introspection. In my work I explore all the things that bind me in order to progress towards a free state of mind.’

CACTI
A Fine Art Collection on Survival & Evolution
The images in this series are inspired by our primal urge to survive, an instinct so common that it is shared by each and every living being, no matter the form. This urge is the reason for evolution. Every single being, big or small, plant or animal, develops characteristics that allows them to survive the conditions they are destined to encounter, in this case the growth of spines on cacti.
I see the same evolution in us humans, and I’m referring here to our internal evolution. Over the course of a lifetime we learn so much. We learn to keep ourselves safe, to prepare for bigger dreams or to make ourselves worthy of our duties. We change when we come across new wisdom and when it becomes imminent for us to make that change at that time, in order to grow and thrive.
These changes are not accidental, they are a push to fulfil our destinies, as no evolution is random or isolated and all are part of a bigger picture. By changing ourselves we do our part in contributing to a wider reality shared by one and all.
THorns
A poem by Mudita Aeron
It was tough out there
Surviving in the scorching heat and torrid winds
So I prayed for a miracle
And a miracle I got
I grew thorns
I didn’t craft them
They are not borrowed
They are a part of me
I can now keep predators away
They cannot chew my spiny skin
My thorns store water
Nourish me when rain is scarce
This evolution was a gift
So that I could survive what I must face
My skin may look hostile
But I’m not aggressive
Still tender on the inside
My intention is not to hurt or harm
I just want to survive
Surrendered Land
A Fine Art Collection on the Power and Beauty of Surrender
I have created these images in admiration of vast spaces of land alive with wild growth and beauty, a world that runs intuitively.
Here, there is no resistance. All is accepted — the shapes, the size, the life, the death, the creation and destruction, and time itself. For such lands, time has no meaning. Trees have lived for hundreds of years, yet no one seems to be keeping track.
Everything is in agreement. Every branch, every blade of grass, every leaf has unequivocally yielded to the eternal flow. And one day they will surrender to decay and dissolve back into the earth.
Wild
A poem by Mudita Aeron
There’s no one tending to this land
And still everything grows
Wildly
Abundantly
As if it knows exactly what to do
⠀
There’s a kind of intelligence here
Not the kind that we can control or measure
Not the kind that logic dictates or reason reasons
But the kind that emerges when things are left to be
⠀
I think this is what surrender looks like
Not passive but powerful
Not empty but deeply alive
Not wanting
Not caring
Simply being
Beyond Boundaries
A Fine Art Collection exploring the Surreality of the Underwater World
I find it quite intimidating being underwater. As the sound disappears, the awareness of space and time seems to dissolve and the weightlessness gives a sense of expansiveness and feels unreal, like drifting beyond the boundaries of ordinary consciousness. There is an overwhelming feeling of being completely vulnerable to the force of water, which in that moment connects the body to everything else and keeps it afloat, suspended, like a bubble.
In these works, I have re-created that strange yet beautiful feeling, like being connected to a deeper field of knowing by completely detaching.

Why 'Churning Of The Ocean' is more relevant than ever?
I created this portrait series ten years ago, but with the ever-widening gap between dualities, the weight of multiplicity, and relentlessness of choice, its context feels more urgent now.
